Reconcile screen

Reconcile

Compare an account with a bank statement: tick the rows the statement shows until the balances match, then mark them reconciled in one go.

Starting a session

Open the account and choose Reconcile account in the header (on narrower screens it sits under More actions). The session starts with today's date and the account's current balance as the target; tap the banner to enter the statement's date and ending balance. The list then shows the rows that are not reconciled yet, whatever the date filter was.

The session is saved with the book. Hide reconcile view leaves it as it is, and Resume reconciliation picks it up again, on another device of a shared book too.

Ticking rows

Tap a row to tick it; tap again to untick. A tick does not change the row's status until you finish. The progress bar shows what is already reconciled, this session's ticks and the target; the banner shows how much is still needed, then ✓ Matched. Long-press a row to fix it in the editor without leaving the session.

Actions

On a wide screen the right-hand pane holds the session: how many rows are ticked and their sum, how many remain, and a button for each action. On a phone the actions sit in the bar at the bottom.

  • Adjust — adds a balance-adjustment row for the exact gap. It shows as a chip in the banner: the pencil edits it, the × deletes it.
  • Mark all / Unmark all — tick or untick every row in the list.
  • Discard — ends the session after a confirmation and removes the adjustment rows it added. Your transactions and their statuses are kept.

Finishing

Finish marks every ticked row Reconciled (✓✓) and records the statement date and balance on the account. It is ready once the ticks match the target. If an older row is still open, the banner reads ✓ Matched — N older rows to clear and Show older rows scrolls to them; Finish shows amber until they are cleared too.
