Book settings

Per-book preferences — these travel with the book file. App-level settings (theme, palette, language) live under App settings.

Display & formatting

  • Symbol position — before / after the amount, or Per currency to follow each currency's convention.
  • Negative formatParentheses / Minus before / Minus after. Changes here repaint every amount in the app immediately.
  • Base currency — read-only. The reference currency for net worth and cross-account reports. Cannot be changed after the book has transactions; create a new book if needed.

Financial calendar

  • Work weekMon–Fri / Sun–Thu / Sat–Wed. Drives the next-due math for recurring templates landing on weekends and the Weekdays preset in period pickers.

Classifications (conditional)

Two optional secondary tags on every transaction (the original anMoney called them Class 1 / Class 2). Leave the name field empty to disable that classification entirely; set a non-empty name to turn it on. Disabled classifications are hidden from the new-transaction form and from reports.

Password (conditional)

  • Add password — shown only when the book has no password yet. Sets a password and re-encrypts the book in place. Web only for now; native shows "Coming soon".
  • Change password — shown when a password is set. Asks for the current one, then the new one twice.
  • Biometric unlock — toggle that lets the next session resume without typing the password. Requires the device to have biometrics enrolled (Face ID, Touch ID, Android biometric). The book is added to / removed from appPrefs.biometricBooks when toggled.

Tips

  • Display-format changes hot-reload every formatted amount — no restart needed.
  • Lose the password and there's no recovery. Take a fresh backup before changing it.
